Off The Beaten Track Boracay

Meet your English speaking guide at the crafts department store, D’Mall, at 9 am.  From there, travel as the locals do, either by trike or an open-sided van to Manoc Manoc. Visit the plaza and basketball court and get a taste of the heart of the residential community in the Philippines. Walk to Manoc Manoc beach to see the cargo boats unloading then catch a pedalo (bike with sidecar) to the local school to take part in an English conversation lesson with the kids (if school is in session). 

The next stop is Bulabog Beach, a great spot to kick back with a coconut drink and a rice cake snack and watch kite surfers and windsurfers.  Continue on, up to Mount Luho. Pass by high-end property developments on the island and arrive at the highest point. Take in amazing views from the viewing platform.

Travel down the other side of the mountain to visit the Municipal Recycling Facility and learn how the island manages some of tourisms impact.   The recycling program has been so successful it has been duplicated throughout the Philippines. See products made from recycled goods and learn how you can minimize your environmental impact. Then it’s time for a beach barbecue lunch and a cooling swim at Puka Shell beach.

Visit the Yapak Ladies Shell Cooperative and try your hand at making jewellery.  Haggle on the street stalls for some of the best shell jewellery made locally.

The final stop is Diniwid beach.  Walk along the cliff path to Fridays Hotel on the aptly named White Beach.  Kick back and watch the waves with a smoothie or sunset cocktail. The adventure ends here.
