The Palms of Boracay has not only an Environmental Management Plan but a social and cultural one as well.  The management of  this resort want The Palms of Boracay to play an active role in the sustainable development of the island.  They therefore not only focus on the hotel's environmental impact but also on ensuring the hotel employs locally and purchases locally and supports community projects. 

 

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

The Palms of Boracay has an EMP that minimises the environmental impact of the hotel through the usual methods of power and water minimisation.  Through using organic and biodegradable products, even purchasing organic cotton towels. 

The Palms also has a Social/Cultural management plan which ensures local suppliers are sourced and local staff employed and local culture supported.  This can besen in the activities that ducate visitors about the Philippines and Boracay.

The Palms of Boracay supports The Island Scholarship Fund, sending one local child to school at the International School on the island and encouraging guests to make donations to this fund that can enable more scholarships.

The Palms of Boracay is also always an active local contributor to initiatives for example contributing materials to clean-up projects and community builds.

For the Palms of Boracay they feel very strongly that the hotel must compliment the island and support it in all ways, not just extract from it.
