Emergency First Responce

Emergency First Response Primary & Secondary Care; CPR and First Aid.

This Scuba diving class focuses on CPR and First aid and teaches the skills needed for anyone who is involved in adventure sports.  This course must be taken before, or in conjunction, with the PADI Rescue Diver course.

Emergency First Response is a PADI affiliate, specialising in teaching life-saving skills and is open to anyone; not just divers.

During this course you will learn serious medical emergency response skills. You will gain confidence and skills and will be better prepared to help in an emergency.

This Emergency First Response Course covers:-

  •     BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the lay person level
  •     AED (automated external defibrillator) use (optional)
  •     Preventing and caring for shock
  •     Spinal injury management
  •     Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk
  •     Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations



Through a combination of independent study, and the above practical training, you will build the confidence and skills needed to provide basic emergency care.

Emergency First Responce Manual & DVD

You can purchase the Primary and Secondary Care Manual and DVD from your PADI Instructor or dive shop.  This manual and DVD enable you to pre-view emergency scenarios and provides step-by-step skill demonstrations, which you can re-visit anytime.


The Emergency First Response Care a Glance card; 'a quick-reference guide for emergency situations, which is designed to fit in to a glove compartment or backpack. The Care at a Glance card is an important component for any first-aid or disaster preparedness kit.

Once completed, you can go on to take the Emergency First Response Care for Children and other emergency training programs, as well as the PADI Rescue Diver Course

  • Physicality: Low
    Physical rating

    From relaxed (low) to ones where you need to be fit to join in.

    Low

    No surprises here. These tours/activities are those most anyone can do if they are fine with fairly flat walks and getting in and out of transport.

    Medium

    Like to be active, even very active, but not pushed too far. This is the one for you.

    High

    These tours/activities require you to be very fit. Probably not suitable for children.

This course will expand on your skills and knowledge for preventing problems when diving, and managing them if they occur.

Participant Guidelines

Master Peter Tay, is a PADI Master Instructor & TDI Advanced Trimix Instructor with over 25 years of diving experiences.

Master Tay has logged more than 15,000 dives, with over 25 diving specialities, and is able to teach in English, Mandarin & Cantonese. He received numerous awards for Outstanding Customer Services & also received Letter of Commendation for Excellent Scuba Instructions.

Master Tay is also an Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer and an Emergency Medical Technician with the knowledge of operating a Recompression Chamber.
